2023 Daegu International Ensemble Competition & Festival

                                            General Rule

 

1. Summary of the Competition

□ Schedule: August 24th, 2022(Thursday)~August 26th (Saturday)

□ Location: 5th Floor auditorium, Daegu EXCO (10, Exco-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu, Republic of Korea)

□ Host: Organization of 2023 Daegu International Ensemble Competition & Festival, Deagu Exco

□ Supervision: Organization of 2023 Daegu International Ensemble Competition & Festival, Life Music Association of Korea Daegu branch

 

2 Competition sectors

□ Elementary School / Middle School / High School / Union / Ensemble

 

3 Qualifications

□ Symphonic Band(wind orchestra) managed by Elementary, Middle, High schools authorized by the Korean Ministry of Education in Korea & oversea

□ Two free pieces without designated songs in all categories, excluding songs, popular music, and movie music that do not fit the nature of the competition

□ Members who can participate in the competition shall certainly be enrolled in school

 

4 Competition program

□ Symphonic Band(wind orchestra) will not be divided into sectors, the competition will only be divided into 4 sectors, elementary school, middle school, high school,

Union & Ensemble Category. However, all participants are eligible for double entries in the Union & Ensemble category.

□ Time assigned for entrance and exit, preparation for the competition, and actual competition (1 March, 1 piece chosen by the participant’s choice/ within 15 minutes)

- Total duration time of performance is 20 minutes (points will be deducted if the duration time is exceeded)

□ After the completing the competition by each sectors, grades will be disclosed and awards will be given in accordance with the screening regulations

□ Shall give additional guidance in the case where normal operation of the competition is difficult to proceed with due to natural disasters or pandemic

 

5. Award Details (Plan)

     *Grand-Prix

4 schools (1 school will be selected from each Categories)

Certificate : The Mayor of Daegu City Award

Prize : 2,000,000 KRW and value of 3 million won musical instrument voucher, and trophy.

     *Excellence Award

4 schools (1 school will be selected from each Categories)

(1 school will be selected from each sectors)

Certificate : The Head of Daegu city Council Award

Prize: 1,000,000 KRW and value of 2 million won for each school musical instrument voucher, and trophy.

     *Gold Award

40% of each Categories

Certificate : the head of educational local department award

     *Silver Award

40% of each Categories

Certificate : the Chairman of Daegu International Ensemble Competition & Festival award

     *Bronze Award. 20% of each sector,

Certificate : the Chairman of Daegu International Ensemble Competition & Festival award

     *Excellent Teacher Award

8 conductors (Grand Award and Excellent teacher award)

Certificate : The superintendent of Daegu Education Office award
